Adding line keys to an extension

Prerequisites:

To successfully follow this guide you will require a PBX on the ECN Platform and you will need your login details for https://my.ecn.net.au

If you do not already have this, then contact ECN by phone on (07) 3105 1300 or via email to support@ecn.net.au.

Step 1

For the first step, navigate to  https://my.ecn.net.au and login to your account.

If you do not have an user account, click ‘Register’ and follow the prompts.

If you have forgotten your login details, click ‘Having trouble signing in’.

Step 2

Expand the ‘Voice’ section, and click on the PBX you wish to modify.

Step 3

Click ‘Offices & Users’.

Step 4

Expand the office you wish to modify by clicking on the blue bar for that office. This will expand to show the extensions allocated to that office.

Expand the office you wish to modify by clicking on the blue bar for that office. This will expand to show the extensions allocated to that office.

Step 6

On this page you will be able to adjust all of the settings for the extension as needed. 

Most changes will require you to ‘resync’ the phone via the main page, or simply restart the phone once the changes have been saved / applied.

Note: If you need to change the name of your extension, you can do so here. (then continue on with the instructions)

Scroll down to the ‘autoprovision’ section.

Click ‘Configure Handset Keys’ to modify the line keys on the handset.

Note: You can also add an expansion module by clicking ‘Enable Expansion Module’. (Once you have added an expansion module you will be able to configure the keys on that via the ‘configure expansion module’ option, the steps will remain the same from here on.)

Step 7

On this page, you will be able to modify any line keys on the handset / expansion module.

Click the ‘Plus Button’ to add a new line key.

Add your line keys as shown below.

Click ‘Save’ once finished.

Note:

Speed dials are for external numbers and internal extension numbers.

Monitor keys are used for internal extension numbers only. (They will also show the status of the person being ‘monitored’)

Day / Night Toggle will allow you to see the status of a day/night condition and toggle it manually (only give authorised access to this one).

Step 8

Once finished with any required modifications, click ‘Save & Close’

Step 9

Click ‘Apply PBX Changes’

Note: Once you click Once you click ‘Apply PBX Changes’ you will need to give the system up to 5 minutes for the changes to apply before proceeding.

Step 10

Click ‘Return To Service’

On this screen, you will see in the bottom left hand side of the page a section called ‘Active Users’.

Find the extension you have finished modifying, and click ‘Resync’. (Or simply restart the handset)

This will tell the phone to check for updated configuration, and restart to apply it once it’s complete.

Allow the phone up to 10 minutes to complete the update process and do not disconnect from power source.
